Key takeaways

  1. CAsarté Interior and Konverta.ai built an AI design engine that goes from a bare 2D floor plan to photoreal renders of every room in about an hour, instead of days.
  2. It asks the designer the questions that matter (theme, restrictions, must-haves), lays out the home, builds the 3D model and puts forward design ideas of its own.
  3. The designer stays in charge the whole way through, and gets to spend their time on the design instead of the drafting.

Interior designers spend days getting from a bare floor plan to something a client can actually picture, when they should be going out there understanding new materials, searching for inspiration.

That was the brief from CAsarté Interior, one of the most innovative firms out there today. Together with Konverta AI, we built something that takes only an hour, and all you need is a bare 2D floor plan.

From floor plan to photoreal renderHow does the AI design engine work?

It starts with a plain 2D floor plan and asks the designer the questions that matter, like the theme, the restrictions and the must-haves.

From there it lays out the home, builds the 3D model in an industry grade interface and produces photoreal renders of every room, and it puts forward ideas of its own along the way, like a fluted walnut TV wall or a banquette that frees up the walkway.

The designer stays in chargeDoes the AI replace the interior designer?

The designer stays in charge the whole way through. They correct the layout, push the ideas further and make the calls.

What changes is that they get to spend their time on the design instead of the drafting.
